We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time. You agree not to use the site for any unlawful purpose or to violate any applicable laws.
Products and Services
All products are described as accurately as possible. Because items are handcrafted using natural materials, variations may occur.
Custom or made-to-order items are produced specifically for each customer and are not eligible for return or exchange, except in cases of craftsmanship-related defects.
Orders and Payment
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order. Prices and availability are subject to change without notice.
Payment is processed through third-party providers, and we do not store your payment information.
Returns and Refunds

Customs and Taxes
All import duties, customs brokerage fees, and applicable taxes are the responsibility of the customer. These fees are not included in shipping costs and may be collected at delivery.
Limitation of Liability
We are not liable for any injury, loss, claim, or damages resulting from the use of this site or products purchased through it, except as required by law.
Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Japan, in which our studio operates.
Changes to Terms

Workshop & Program Terms of Participation
Assumption of Risk
Participants acknowledge that working with hand tools, natural finishes including oil and Urushi, and participating in ocean sessions involves inherent risks. By enrolling, the participant voluntarily assumes full responsibility for any injury or loss that may arise from participation.
Release of Liability
By enrolling in the program, participants acknowledge and accept the inherent risks involved in woodworking and ocean activities. Participation is voluntary and undertaken at the participant’s own responsibility. The School and its instructors and assistants are not liable for injuries or losses arising from participation, except where such liability cannot legally be excluded.
Participant Responsibility
Participants agrees to:
Follow all safety instructions and demonstrations
Use tools and equipment only as instructed
Wear recommended protective equipment
Immediately report unsafe conditions
Failure to follow safety guidance may result in dismissal from the program without refund.
Health & Allergies
Participants confirm that they are physically capable of participating.
Urushi & Natural Finishes
Urushi is a traditional natural lacquer derived from the sap of the lacquer tree. In many individuals, skin contact may cause irritation or allergic reactions, including rashes.
Participants acknowledge this risk and agree to disclose any known allergies, sensitivities, or prior reactions to Urushi or similar substances before participation.
Participants agree to follow all safety instructions when handling Urushi, including wearing protective gloves and avoiding direct skin contact.
The School reserves the right to restrict or prohibit the use of Urushi by any participant if there is reason to believe that its use may pose a health risk.
The School is not responsible for allergic reactions or other health conditions that were not disclosed prior to participation.
Tools & Property
Participants agree to exercise due care in the use of all tools, equipment, and facilities.
Participants are financially responsible for damage caused by misuse, negligence, or intentional misconduct.
Ocean Activities
Ocean sessions are voluntary and dependent on conditions.
Participants acknowledge the unpredictable nature of the ocean and assume full responsibility for any water-based participation.
Media & Intellectual Property
The School may photograph or record activities during the program for educational, archival, or promotional purposes, including use on websites, printed materials, and social media platforms.
Participants who do not wish to appear in such materials must notify the School in writing prior to the program.
Participants are welcome to take photographs and short video recordings for personal use.
However, the program curriculum, teaching materials, demonstrations, methods, and instructional content are the intellectual property of the School and may not be recorded in full, reproduced, distributed, or shared publicly without prior written consent.
